Totally different casting choices than the film in some cases but it gave a great idea of the staged version, with no loss (i'm guessing) of emotional impact (if the live fully staged version if more impactful not sure the audience could take it.) My cousin saw the musical on stage and loved it; I never could get anyone to go, and it's not the type of thing one wants to sit through alone. But then four hours of anything is a hard sell.
