Latest CHUI project viewer released today

Recommended Posts

Today we released a new CHUI project viewer.

You'll find a new feature, Do Not Disturb, which resembles Busy mode, but is more complete and controllable.

We fixed a number of bugs related to:
* Filtering by search terms
* Torn-off conversation menu and options
* Window resizing and scrolling, text wrapping, and highlighting
* Display name hiding and showing
* Voice calls
* Notifications
* Crashes

We also added a number of Help menu items that we hope will help residents more easily find the abundant information about Second Life that is available outside the Viewer.

The project viewer can be downloaded  from http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Alternate_Viewers

As before, please file bugs and other feedback in CHUIBUG:  https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/chuibug

Color me baffled, the thing even works under Ubuntu 12.10 (64bit, haven't tried 32bit yet). It still crashes occasionally but at least it doesn't crash off the bat with font problems. Giving it a whirl right now to see where else it bombs.

I really like the CHUI feature... huge improvement, and glad to see this project seems to be merged-up to a recent point on trunk (judging by other features and fixes).

Unfortunately, I use "About Land" quite a lot, and that crashes every time for me, whether I access it from the navbar or from the right-click-on-parcel pulldown.

Wish I didn't need that feature so much so I could test it more,  because otherwise it looks really good.
