why am I having problems with "requesting Region capibilities: durning long in?

SL's sim server code uses "capabilites" as a way to give an avatar access to background functions. If you are really interested in how it works, there's a technical explanation at http://mrtopf.de/blog/second-life/slga-capabilities-explained-technical/ .  Assuming that you probably aren't, though, the practical implication of that error message is that the sims servers aren't authorizing you to access some important databases (your friends list, your inventory, your groups list ....).  In other words, you aren't fully logged in.

The problem is probably on your end.  If you've been using wireless --- a bad idea for SL --- you may be losing bandwidth to interference or just not getting a stable connection.  Switch to a direct cable when you're in SL.  If it's been a while since you rebooted your router, do it now.  Just unplug it from the power while you go make a cup of tea.  Plug it back in and it should be fresh and happy again.  Other connection possibilitiesare discussed here >>> http://blog.nalates.net/2011/10/26/troubleshoot-your-sl-connection/
