joniveehernandez
Hi Guys is there a way to make the face of the prim with media, touchable (touch event)? - Thanks
Dora Gustafson
If you can't do it with LlDetectedTouchST I guess there is no way to do it :smileysurprised::smileyvery-happy:
Dora Gustafson
Touch does work on a media on a prim, prim Only the click action can not be a touch or any other click action When you want to touch you right-click and choose Touch in the menu. The prim must have a script with a touch event handler The New Script default will do nicely for testing :smileysurprised::smileyvery-happy:
joniveehernandez
It must be left click, and media occupy the whole face of the prim.
Rolig Loon
No, Dora has it right. Try this: 1. Rez a prim. 2. Select a face, make it MOAP active, and give it a URL to display. 3. Create a new script with a touch_start event (the "Hello, Avatar!" script works fine.). 4. RIGHT-click on the face and select the touched option. Your script will say "Touched.", as Dora predicted. Darkie Minotaur
If the right-click way isn't what you want, you could use a second prim, make it transparent and place it on the face in question. Of cause, this means you can't click on the media (e.g. links) on the media prim.
Rolig Loon
Media On A Prim, of course.
joniveehernandez
Darkie Yes, I was thinking to put a layer of prim to catch the touch event, But it will be consider as fallback if there's no other way to it. Rolig, got it sorry not good yet with initials in SL that make me confused with MOAP, but it needs to use right-click.
Qie Niangao
If it's any help, it's the side that has different mouse interaction with prim media, not the whole object. So, for example, you can hollow out a cube, paint the hollow part with MoaP, and still touch the outside with a left click. That's handy for simple stuff, although the texture repeats, alignment, and orientation of the hollow surface will need adjusting. Mesh allows up to eight sides (materials in the model) oriented any way you like, so that's a more general approach. Of course, a single click still won't generate both a touch event and a direct interaction with the media itself.

Yes, exactly. Use right-click. It works fine.
