Try decreasing your Maximum Bandwidth in Preferences  >>> Network & Cache.  It should be no higher than 75% of your measured download speed ( 1200 to 1500 kB/sec for most people, 800-1000 if you are in wireless).  You can measure your speed at http://speedtest.net/ .  If you set your Maximum too high, your viewer will use all available bandwidth for basic functions (displaying the positions and movements or objects and avatars, communication, etc.) In a crowded or texture-heavy sim, that can mean that there's no bandiwdth left for streaming media and voice, both of which run on different servers.  Reducing Max Bandwidth reserves some for those functions. Depending on the quality of your computer and its Internet connection, you may experience slightly more lag, but you will have your music again.
