Question

Hello,

I uploaded a 512x512 pic for my web profile avatar and when you click on zoom it resizes to something like 200x1000.  I looked around and this is true of every profile pic.  I know it's not my browser because I've heard others say the same thing...

Signill,

Yup - The Zoom is totally screwed up on the web-based My Profile - Avatar Picture "Touch to Zoom" feature - Great! - Get out my JIRA notes to remember how to report it.

FYI - For darn complicated reasons the profile picture aspect ratio is suppose to be 4:3.

Here are other aspect rations to be aware of:

2.x Series Viewers

  • Search > Classifieds thumbnail - 4:3 (60×45 pixels)
  • Search > Classifieds expanded - ~4:3 (252×188 pixels)
  • Search > Classifieds expanded > Details - 17:7 (272×112 pixels)
  • Search > People - 4:3 (188×141 pixels)
  • Search > Destination Guide thumbnail - ~4:3 (45×34 pixels)
  • Search > Destination Guide expanded - 5:3 (250×150 pixels)
  • Profile > 2nd Life tab - ~1:1 (100×99 pixels)
  • Profile > Picks thumbnail - 8:5 (88×55 pixels)
  • Profile > Pick expanded - ~5:3 (285×172 pixels)
  • About Land > Options tab - ~20:13 (193×125 pixels)
  • Places > More information - ~11:7 (272×173 pixels)

Why are all these sizes different? I have no idea. Sounds like SL was created by a committee! :P

P.S. - I have to admit I love the slimming effect that a 1:5 aspect ratio has on my profile picture - LOL
