Can a hobby be an addiction??? I am in sl to relax   and learn build stuff ,,,  and the time i spend here and a lot of time i have sl on but i am afk doing real life stuff. I remember growing up my mom, dad,  aunts, uncle & grandparents  all had hobbies that looking back took time from family , The women sewed  knitted  quilted had the womens get togethers baking  cooking  collecting recipies   shopping for materials patterns ,,,, and the guys  cars , making things, fishing , hunting ,  so in a way is it an addiction or a hobbie you love

Yes, absolutely. Here's some easy examples:

Exercising can be a hobby or an addiction.
Gambling can be a hobby or an addiction.
Shopping can be a hobby or an addiction.
Gaming can be a hobby or an addiction.
Sex and masturbation can be addictions. (Not sure if they count as a hobby. 🤔)
Bonus: Cooking & knitting can be a hobby or an addiction.

It's all about how far you go with it. Once you're putting more time or money into your hobby than you should (you start ignoring responsibilities or spend more than you can afford), it's an addiction.

I do know it can be a tool for pain management____ surgery  & chemo  infusions and the  temp  nerropthy   that comes with certain   chemo infusions  ,,,, instead of using the pain relief drugs   reading  engaging in sl or building  takes your mind off the pain ,,,,   i do not think that would be considered an addiction
