Question

I want to put thing's in both my second life profile and my real life profile, but things keep getting cut off.  Why is the character limit set at such a small amount?  Especially when I've seen people with more than what I'm trying to put in mine.  (Yes, I've tried to condense things, and not have then spread out so much).

Try the web profile, maybe your viewer has a smaller limit.

Also, many people use their picks to write things that do not fit on the front page of the profile.

You can create a pick, then edit it to say whatever you want. Just make sure when you create the pick that it is not a place you do not want others teleporting to.

Edit, oh never mind, I see you already know all that.

That's just the way it is. Does anyone really need to write a novel and put it there?

Profile

Each 7-bit ASCII character is encoded in one byte. International characters might need more bytes. When pasting text instead of typing, you can get in one byte more into each of the below.

  • 2nd Life tab's About field - 510 bytes
  • Picks tab - 10 picks with 1022 bytes each
  • 1st Life tab's Info field - 253 bytes
  • Classified tab - 100 listings with x bytes each
  • My Notes - 1022 bytes
