Server releases are back on track, this week.  We have an update for the main channel, plus 2 different maint-server projects for the RC channels.

Second Life Server (main channel)
The main channel is getting the maint-server project that was previously on all 3 RC channels

Scheduled Tuesday 2012-11-27 05:00-11:00 PST

Release notes: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_Server/#12.11.09.266804

Second Life RC BlueSteel

BlueSteel is getting a new maint-server project.  There are a few new flags for the LSL function llGetObjectDetails(), but the most important changes are some fixes for physics and mesh-based crash modes.

Scheduled Wednesday 2012-11-28 07:00-11:00 PST

Release notes: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_RC_BlueSteel/12#12.11.16.267103

UPDATE: BlueSteel is being rolled back to the same version as the main channel, 12.11.09.266804, due to a showstopper bug (BUG-927) which caused parcel deeds to groups to fail.  See http://status.secondlifegrid.net/2012/11/29/post1835/ for details about the roll status.

Second Life RC LeTigre

LeTigre is getting the same update as BlueSteel.

Scheduled Wednesday 2012-11-28 07:00-11:00 PST

Release notes: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_RC_LeTigre/12#12.11.16.267103

Update: The LeTigre roll for this week has been canceled.

Second Life RC Magnum

Magnum is getting yet another maint-server project.  Magnum will include all the changes from BlueSteel and LeTigre, and will additionally include some extra changes to improve stability .

Scheduled Wednesday 2012-11-28 07:00-11:00 PST

Release notes: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_RC_Magnum#12.11.21.267232

UPDATE: Magnum is being rolled back to the same version as the main channel, 12.11.09.266804, due to a showstopper bug (BUG-927) which caused parcel deeds to groups to fail.  See http://status.secondlifegrid.net/2012/11/29/post1835/ for details about the roll status.

We will be monitoring this thread as the code gets released, so feel free to note any observations you have about the server updates.  If you have a specific bug you'd like to report, please file a Jira

Since the restart of Bay City - Falconmoon (Magnum), offline IM's that are emailed to me from in world objects are blank.

In the following sample, all the blank areas *should* have contained the text that the object IM'ed to my av:

The object 'Falconmoon' has sent you a message from Second Life:

= Falconmoon is owned by Triple Peccable

Couldn't edit original for some reason so adding - failure to rez message happens on trying to rez from inventory onto ground or attach a HUD. Creating new prims is ok, shift copying already rezzed is ok, just anything in inventory

Also problems sending inventory items to another av on the same sim

Full rights on sim (Andromeda Isle)

Triple, Marielle: Thanks for the report.  I can confirm the issue about offline IMs from LSL scripts (using llInstantMessage()) missing the 'meat' of the message in offline emails.  I've filed BUG-916 about this.  I verified that the issue occurs in Magnum and Bluesteel with this week's new versions.

Maestro, I'm on the main channel and I'm getting a failure to derez object due to fault in inventory message very frequently today. Basically, when building, I'm having problems deleting pieces I no longer need. I can't even take a finished object back into inventory (take a copy) without getting this message.

You are not going to leave this code live are you? With this bug I can't tell who bought what, so my bookkeeping duties have doubled. Since it normally takes months for a bug to work its way through and out of the system (weeks if it is really on the fast track) I am looking at a lot of extra work.

And that must be just the tip of the iceberg. There must be 100's of automated processes that are now broken for a lot of different residents.

Hi Mikka, I visited http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Andromeda%20Isle/226/218/21 and I am able to rez objects from my inventory without any issue.  It's possible that something is broken with your inventory; I would recommend contacting support at https://support.secondlife.com/

EDIT:

I checked with the support team, and they confirmed that some users are having inventory problems related to the general grid problems (and unrelated to the RC rolls) which are posted to http://status.secondlifegrid.net/2012/11/28/post1834/ - please check there for updates.

Maestro, the "Cannot derez object due to inventory fault" message is being seen/received by a number of people - there are scattered reports throughout the forums:

http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Inventory/Cannot-derez-object-due-to-inventory-fault/qaq-p/1749021

and

http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Second-Life-Server/Has-any-one-had-a-problem-with/m-p/1749005

Something does seem to be happening that is affecting people.

 LOL Thank you Maestro.

I can not see the JIRA (some permission issue) - but does this mean we have to live with the broken offline-IMs until...when it's fixed somewhen in the next weeks :smileysurprised: ?

My apologies for the confusion Marielle .. I should have removed the link from that before posting. All BUG reports (what used to be called "Issues" on the JIRA system) are now Private unless you have special permissions. To my knowledge only a very few non-Lindens have the necessary permissions. (I'm not one btw)

As to their intended course of action .. I'm sorry but I have no info on their decision yet. Hopefully they do choose to rollback to the previous version as this latest issue is a real killer for many people.

I use an in-world and out-world Marketplace Redelivery system (iGlom RDS) that sends me in-world IMs when a product is delivered by the Marketplace and when a customer requests a redelivery. Those messages are showing up blank, so I have to go to the iGlom website to pull up reports to see what's happened. Killer? No. But definitely annoying and IMO worthy of a rollback.

Maestro? Any determination yet on a course of action?

Hi Arwen, I think the issue earlier today was the http://status.secondlifegrid.net/2012/11/28/post1834/ issue, which seems to have cleared up.
