My voice keeps cutting out ,how do I fix it ?

Voice stops working after after 5 minuets  I turn it on

My first guess would be that you have some other program (like Skype) running on your computer that that is hijacking your Voice.  After that, my second guess is that you have your Maximum Bandwidth setting (in Preferences >> Network & Cache) too high.  It should be no more than 75% of your measured download bandwidth -- about 1200 to 1500 for most users but no more than 1000 if you are on wireless.  (Wireless is a bad choice for SL anyway.)

Incidentally, sometimes device settings can reset, so check in Preferences → Sound & Media -> Voice Settings → Audio Device Settings, to be sure that the input and output are set correctly.
