Practically all landlords allow you to set a number of options on the land, including Autoreturn. So there is usually no excuse for not activating it. Plus, maxing out the prims is not only not practical, as it leaves no room to rez own stuff, on properties offering more prims than usual for a given size, prims are pooled among all properties from the same landlord on the sim. In other words: I have an allowance of 500 prims, however, I could rez out stuff eating up more than 3000 prims without getting an error message. The 'error message' I would get the next day would be my landlord asking me, if I'm gone completely bonkers.

Plus, as a landowner/tenant, you have certain obligations, and one of them is to look after your property, avoiding it becoming a junkyard/landfill/eyesore.

yes thats all true. when you on a rental

was more chat about mainland parcels really that owned by individuals who  leave their lands on autoreturn = 0 and log out one day and hardly if ever come back

this not happen as much as it used to tho back in the days of first lands. more people now better at not leave on 0 as much anymore

You can tilt at windmills by trying to get Linden Lab to fix it, or do something practical:

- Use Firestorm/Phoenix (or possibly other viewers), right-click on the offending object & go through the menu till you find & click on Derender. In Firestorm, at least, you'll never see it again.

- If it's visible from your land, put up something that blocks it.

- Get land elsewhere. I suggest you find land on a private estate that has covenants about the content of parcels. The managers are much more responsive to problems than LL is.

You can continue to get people to AR the object, but LL doesn't have many people doing in-world police work. It could take a long time before they get around to fixing it.

No, it isn't. The rotational center is exactly here:

It is on a land named Songbird's Beach and is privately owned.

Also, the land owner appears to be what I can an absentee land owner (owns land but never logs in to check on it).  She hasn't logged in since August 2.  The adjacent land owner, however, has the land for sale and logged in two days ago.  I've made an appeal to her.

on lands that have this kinds of things on and autoreturn = 0 then just build it out

like put a house and some treeson the parcel over the top of it so you cant see the rubbish

build it out to the max prims so no one can rez anything on there after

most absent landowners are pretty good about this i find. when if they ever return to SL

I've done that LOL.  In this case, the object is large (10m probably) and in the air.  It would be challenging to cover it up with something nice and fits the theme of the area.

You can try putting in a ticket. Once in a while, a land owner has actually left SL and has not paid their membership in years, but their land remains, under their name, too.

I ran into that a few times on a sim I no longer own land with, regarding small parcels I wished to incorporate into my parcel. It turned out that they hadn't been in SL in ages. I was able to buy the parcels.

If you say you wish to buy the parcel in question, you might get a positive response, if it turns out the person left SL long ago.

If they left build on, and auto return off, anyone can rez there, until it is full.

After you buy the parcel you can abandon it if you want to. Just make sure you turn the banline off, build off, and auto return on, first.

for the bigger 10x10 grif boxes then a nice house/building works best i think. and some trees to break up the sight lines

if is way up in the sky then can put a ginormous tree under it and make a tree house on top. if is more modern sim setting then a pole house or sky tower can work as well
