Edited problems typing Tried reintalling

I'm not really having a problem with typing, but I'm having a problem with the SL viewer (no matter which one I use). When I type y  I get z , when I type z I get y when I try to type I'm or anything with an aphostrophe I get an a with an umlat over it.  And there are other problems.

 

Does anyone know how this is happening and how I can fix it? It doesn't happen on my computer anywhere else.

I uninstalled the viewers - I tried the official one and Firestorm, deleted every file and folder I could find for each one. Reintalled and it's still happening.

It doesn't happen right away but after I've been in SL for 10-15 minutes it starts again.

 

Any other suggestions on what is going on?

Check your language settings In preferences

Yep, it sounds like your viewers think you're using a German keyboard for some reason - I assume your menus aren't in German, though, as you probably would have mentioned a little thing like that. If the viewer settings don't do anything then try re-installing and making sure the language is set as English.
