Storm Clarence
There have been several threads of late regarding both SLF, the feeds, and inworld.People are tired. Below I outline my 6 point plan for the perfect therapeutic cocktail:THE PERFECT MARTINIHardware Requirements:Shaker (Hawkes' Deco Silver and Crystal)Martini Glass (Schott Zwiesel Enoteca Crystal 10 oz.)Ice Bucket (Sterling, Frank M. Whiting, Co. )Olive Spears (Sterling)Software Requirements:8 oz Bombay Sapphire Gin (you will need extra, because I bet you can't drink just one)A "whiff" of Vermouth (Martini and Rossi Dry)Olives (1) Ice (Cubes)Integration:1) Place a copious amount of ice in the shaker. Liberally pour the gin over the cubes making sure to smother.2) Shake well. Very well, until your hand(s) are too chilled to shake any more.3) Spear the olive4) Pour the contents of the shaker into the crystal.5) Hold the open bottle of Vermouth over the glass without pouring (give it a whiff)6) Send the olive for a swim. Perfection. Chill and enjoy.
Lynda Baran
Sounds good if you exchange Absolut 100 (fresh out of the freezer, no ice to water it down) for the Bombay and a Lime twist for the Olive. Foget the shaker full of ice (the vodka just came from the freezer) and pour just a little of the vermouth down the sink. Or an alternative (though not anywhere similar to a Martini) is to reach passed the Absolut 100 for the bottle of Red Breast 12 year old Single Pot Irish. Pour it into a Highball glass (again not needing ice to water it down), let it breath for the count of 10 and sip slowly.
Shelby Silverspar
or swap the gin for some bourbon and the dry vermouth for some sweet vermouth, combine with ice, dash of bitters and a couple cherries and stir well. pour into rocks glass and savor. larry Mavros
Larry`s recipe for a LONG ISLAND ICE TEA Put: 2 CL Tequila, 2 CL Brown Rum, 2 CL Vodka, 2 CL Gin, 2 CL Cointreau, 2 CL Lime/Lemon juice in a shaker, add some ice and shake that for a few seconds (I usually shake it circa 15 - 30 seconds) fill it in a Long drink glass with some ice and fill the remaining space with Cola. Cheers and enjoy
Venus Petrov
My 'therapy' of late is to take a walk. A nice longish one through the neighborhood, inhaling the air and admiring the Fall colors. All the beverages here sound nice.

Venus Petrov
The air will chill over the next couple of days and we shall have rain as the hurricane wraps its arms around the U.S. Eastern seaboard. While I have not done so in awhile, I would likely think of pulling out my bottle of 10-year old Chambord, taking one of my Reed & Barton crystal Soho cordial glasses, and having a few sips. Warms my insides just thinking about it. Bonus! An easy receipe for a Chambord Daiquiri is: 3/4 oz Chambord raspberry liquer3/4 oz light rum1/2 oz lime juice1 tsp powdered sugar
Perrie Juran
Just hand me a bottle of Jack and I'm happy. p.s. If you are ever on a date with me, do not order a Jack and Coke. I will disappear on you and leave you with the bar tab. Jack is meant to be drank straight or on the rocks. Anything else is sacrilege.
