group notices

Is there a way to stop recieving them? Also is there a way to disable group chat? Im curious.

You can stop receiving group notices by clicking on the group title, read the info that comes up at the bottom of the front page, and uncheck the box to receive group notices.

I don't believe you can disable group chat, but if you just click on the X when it starts up, it should leave you in peace for your session.

Individual groups are managed via the Groups Panel. This can be accessed in various ways:

• By using the People Icon on the bottom button bar;
• By opening it from the Conversations window, Contacts → Groups tab;
• from the list of groups in a profile
   
  In the General tab, look at the options for Me:
  • My title: this is a drop-down from you you may select your group title. The options here will depend on what role you have in the group. In most cases, there will be only one selection available.
  • Receive Ggroup notices: Enable if you want to get notices sent to the group
  • Receive group instant messages: Disable this if you do not wish to receive group chat.
  • Show in my profile: If enabled, the group will shwo in your public profile; disable if you do not want it listed.
