How long does it take to fill an open order for lindens

Bought some lindens on the SL website but it did not get filled right away, it was left as an open order.

How long does it usually take for an open order to be filled then ?

It depends if you made a Market buy (which should be filled almost immediately, but may take a short time - see below), or a Limit buy which will be filled when your limit price is met (when someone sells L$ at the price you set).
