When I rent anywhere, knowing that I have a good landlord is right up there with the rest of the options to be considered.  I have recently started working with some great landlords, and wanted to make sure you look at their offerings when you are looking.

Tangled Estates has worked within SL for several years, so they know how to manage the land and tenants with the goals of creating good neighborhoods and minimizing lag.  Owners and staff are good people with a strong customer service approach.  Especially for those new to virtual land, it is a good place to get started with a minimum of hassle and maximal assistance.

Anytime that is convenient for you (24/7), the Tangled Estates' office (  http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Tangled/163/102/22  is open for you to drop in and check out their offerings. Kiosks at the office will show you where the parcels for sale are and give you a quick teleport to check them out. Be sure to check to see whether the rate is for a week or a month so that you understand the pricing. It is a bit cheaper to rent by the month.

If you prefer talking with a live person, there are signs showing which staff are online at the office - or drop a notecard on Elskede Blessed or Clayjn Hancroft (owners).

Or look for me online (wildonepleaser). I go by Classy Hallelujah inworld - but SL insists on my original name for search. Would love to assist!
May you discover much SL joy,
Classy

Your post reminded a lot of something from many years ago...

Back when Roger Moore was playing Simon Templar (The Saint) on TV, he took up with a cloth manufacturer near where I live. It was a financial arrangement where he got paid for promoting the cloth. The story he told went like this. "In my role of The Saint, I wear out many suits but one brand of suit seemed to last much longer than the rest. I checked on the material and found that it was made by <the manufacturer>". That was for the press.

It was an incredibly childish piece of lying - childish because it was so blantantly obvious. That's why your post reminded me of it :)
