There can be lag on the sim that the avatar is logged into. Also, It could be that the avatar just loads slower than the other avatar. It is a common problem but it usually is resolved quickly. Sometimes you have to do a character reset to go back to a noob but after that you are set and you can just put on anything that you had on before or whatever. If that still doesn't work then you need to submit a help ticket to tell LL that you avatar takes too long to load or whatever.

Hope that helps ^-^

Curious if you happen to use rlv with this account or if you are wearing a collar on this account if so it is possible that those options have been blocked.  If you are turn off rlv and remove your collar and relog. I have known a few people that have played with the collar and not relized some of the affects.

Welcome to Second Life Answers, Alice

This often occurs, where one account is unaffected.  This can either be because of an attachment that the affected account is wearing that the unaffected account is not wearing - so you can log in and try to detach everything (try the suggestion in the other post in this thread to do a character test - from Advanced Menu - Test Character).

However, the inability to IM sounds like there may be a problem with your connection.  Reset your modem, do not be on wireless, always use a wired connection.  Also, the next time you log in on your affected account, please change your start login location to Furball - this is a quiet sim - it might just break the spell of not being able to IM.

Other suggestions may also follow. Please keep looking back here, and do let us know when your problem is fixed.
