I am having a hard time to figure out how i get get my particle to drop to the ground.

You would have to use emissions settings to make the particles drop.. Check out this particle generator. In the Behavior part it kind of shows the angles http://particles-lsl-generator.bashora.com/

Click on the patterns drop down and  use the appropriate code for the type of emissions you want and angle to emit

I suggest you check the Particle Lab in world. I don't have the SLURL available atm, but try searching for it. There you will find a guided tour of anything to do with particles.

Emssion angle is specified by PSYS_SRC_ANGLE_BEGIN & PSYS_SRC_ANGLE_END
