Using S L 3.3.4, media & audio on same controls.

How do I set my viewer to have individual controls for media and audio? I can not select play for one without the other playing as well. I can only turn on both or turn off both but not play or stop each individually. Is there a way to set up seperate controls on my viewer?

As far as I know, the answer is no. There is just one control for all media. That's one feature that is greatly missed in this version. The only workaround is to disable either media or music in the preferences.

When you hover over the media buttons in the top right corner, you can press a button for more options. In the list that come up, you should be able to select the stream you want and play just that one. But perhaps I misunderstood the question...

I tried this and still had no choice, but maybe I was just a little dumb before my morning coffee!

lol. Perhaps I had too much coffee. I don't have the viewer on my work computer, so I couldn't check, but I'm sure you're right. I never had the issue Sonya have. Media playing is glitchy, though, so who knows...

OK, this question has been bugging me the whole morning. I went back to check if there was any way to toggle media and music with separate controls without going into the preferences. Alas there is not. The shortcut is the little cog-wheel just at the right of the play/pause button. It opens the sound & media controls panel where you can enable/disable "streaming music" and "media". Not the most convenient interface for sure. :smileyfrustrated:

The Sound & Media tab includes a checkbox to Allow media to auto-play. If you check this box, media automatically plays when you enter a parcel with a media URL and media texture set. Otherwise, you have to play media manually.

Annoying, isn't it, when things sticks to your mind like that.
What I was thinking of, is the 'More>>' button (which says << Less in the pic below) next to the gear button, which opens a list of media streams. Like this:

I thought it was possible to select one source in the list, and play just the one, but I might be wrong about it - I don't have more than one source playing at my property, so I couldn't test it properly.

Excellent point Luc! I too have only one source on my land. I will have to rez a TV when I get home from work and see if that clarifies the question.
