Don't Use Voice in SL

Recommended Posts

...locally... right after the person you were speaking to has signed off.

Especially when you've forgotten to turn off your mic, then decide to unplug your headphones and watch a gay porn scene... with sound.

...Dres (...just saying.)

Or how about just turning off voice and not using it, ever... that way you don't have to hear everyone else breathing, eating, yelling at the kids, and watching TV.

Sure, there are mishaps like the one Dres describes, but not everyone who uses voice is as rude as you describe and most don't use it in public spaces unless it's just them and their friends there (everyone that I know will go into a private call before even TPing if they're going to use it). If breathing is an issue, most people are happy to move their mic so it's not quite so close to their mouth/nose.

I really hate to hear people yell at their kids when they are in voice (or even dj'ing in some cases).  Get up off your lazy butt and go talk to your kids!!   ...  ya know?!

The few times I've ever heard anyone use voice, the conversations were about as exciting as watching paint dry.It was mostly dancers talking about their own personal stuff. What's the point, really, of using voice to say things that you could easily either type in open chat or IM?

Personally, I don't get it...but then again, I don't use it either. I usually keep my speakers off...
