Attachments in my lap or in mid air...?

Why do my attachments appear in my lap (up my butt) when I log in? Sometimes it's a shoe, sometimes my hair. I have to detach the object, then reattach it to make it view correctly. Also, others see my attachments floating in mid air when they log in or after I teleport. There has to be a way to stop this other than not wearing any prims. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I've heard some say it's an old bug that was fixed a while back. Can someone tell me a way to fix this please? I've tried using the newest official viewer and using Firestorm. It happens on both viewers. I put in a ticket for support but apparently support for this issue is only available for premium members. So any help would be great. Thanks.
