It does sound like a crummy Internet connection.  Always suspect your router first.  Reboot it by unplugging it from the power while you go out for coffee.

As a temporary measure when things fail to rez, try changing your camera angle.  Sometimes looking from a different position is enough to jog your graphics card into rendering the missing object.

Here are the steps to run through to find out whether you, someone in between, or the lab is having connection problems.

Troubleshoot Your #SL Connection

Everything in the Internet is changing from IPV4 to IPV6. The Lab is consolidating from 3 data centers to 2.

When you ask a tech question include information about your computer and viewer. If the viewer will at least show the login screen, get the info from the viewer's Help-About... and paste that into your post with your question. To add your info to an existing question use OPTIONS->EDIT. It’s in the upper right of your post.

If you tweak your graphics settings you may want to reset them and try running the viewer. You'll f ind the settings file in:

C:\Users\[win_login_id]\AppData\Roaming\Secondlife\user_settings\settings.xml

You can rename the file and try running the viewer. It will make a new settings.xml file using all the defaults for your computer. If it makes no difference, close the viewer, delete the new settings.xml file and rename the previous one back to the original name to restore you settings.
