Minuet Dreamscape
Can anyone tell me if they have experienced losing control in their groups that they created? If so how did you fix it ? Group Owner cannot create or send notices in group? Please help
Dilbert Dilweg
This can happen if the group gets too large (over 9,000 - 10,000 users). You will be unable to download the full user list and unable to complete user mapping.. which disables the ability to set up rolls and give user rolls etc etc. To fix it is to prune old users that have not logged in a couple years Is this and old group with a lot of users or a new one? Sometimes you have to go to another region and try reloading the group again
Minuet Dreamscape
there is 65 members and the group is 2 years old , the support ticket was sent in and the reply was because it was a free membership they could not help with this issue. Dilbert Dilweg
Try clicking on advanced at top of your screen (ctrl-alt-shift-d to show advanced menu) with the group closed and then chose clear group cache. then open the group again so it reloads and remaps or just use the refresh button. .. If the region you are on when doing this is having problems then you may want to try this on another region.. alll those symtoms are exactly what happens when the list did not download and map the rolls properly to the users... Hopefully that's all it is

Qie Niangao
Is this a problem for all owners of the group? (If the group only has one owner, you might consider adding an alt as owner, too, and not only for this testing.) If all owners have the same problem... that suggests there's something wrong with the group data itself, which would require a Linden's intervention... in which case, either pony up a month's fee for Premium, or find a Premium member willing to become an owner and file a support ticket, etc. If only one owner account has the problem, either try it on a different computer (and the stock Linden viewer, of course), or wipe all the settings files and see if that helps. Dilbert Dilweg
That really sux. Maybe it is just a glitch and hopefully clear up in a day or 2.. Server Migration may be going on. You may just have to start a new one.

[EDIT: Actually, before you do any of this, is there any chance you have access to a completely different computer on which you can run Second Life? If the same problem happens on a different computer, there's not much point in trying this.] Before you do it, you'll want to back-up any chat logs and other files you want to retain from the directories you'll be deleting when you follow the directions on the wiki for a full manual uninstall. The complete uninstall described there is slight overkill because there's little chance that there's anything wrong with the program binary itself, but at least those instructions include all the operating systems and where they hide the files. Of course, if you're using a third-party viewer, you'll need to get special instructions from them about how to fully uninstall it.
