More weirdness

Sitting on my rear end with a reasonable good frame rate (32fps) I open search and instant freeze well not quite an immediate drop to 1 fps and it remains until the close registers for the search window then right back to 30 FPS. Just curious if others are seeing this.

Which operating system are you using?

I realised that Windows XP had something to do with it when I replaced it with Windows 7. Same hardware. and under Windows XP the frame rate dropped when the download rate was high. I have not seen that with Windows 7, possibly because it can use multiple cores properly.

My experience might be totally irrelevant to you. You haven't told us enough to be able to help. But I think it's a clear enough example of why these details matter.

I have that always. Never has been different. When I open the map my fps drops to 4 or 5 and when I close the map the fps is back to 35. Same thing with search and sometimes even with uploading textures. 

I am on windows XP, 6 gb memory, 60/6 connection

Are you running XP Home Edition or XP Pro?

Are you looking for help with this problem or just making a comment?

Sounds like an issue with HTTP Textures to me.

Advanced > HTTP Textures and I guess toggle it to see which works best.

Again difficult with the amount of information provided, but this is an easy toggle-switch.

noticed the same thing, just this week. last week it was all ok. Teleports also fail very often and only fix after relog. So it is not pc performance at all that is the issue.

Well by golly gee whiz I had not opened the search window in several weeks  did tonight and guess what all is well makes one wonder just what the gremlins do in their spare time at the lab only thing tht is different is all my equipment is 10 feet lower now )) maybe that fixed it. ( moved everything from the second floor to the first ).
