connecting region.. help?

why when i am trying to load second life for first time does it freeze on connecting to region? i have got norton antivirus but that done a check and told me second life was safe to use, i will try that and let you no how it goes though, thnx

Good question.  It's really hard to say without knowing anything at all about your computer or Internet connection.  My best guess, though, is that you have a firewall or an antivirus routine blocking SL from working.  See http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Using-Second-Life-with-a-firewall/ta-p/1304539 and http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/antivirus_whitelisting
