Miss kitty Kat,

Usually, the inability to move or really bad movement boils down to a poor internet connection.

Moving in SL is you sending movement commands with the cursor arrows to the SecondLife Region you are in and that Region sending you updated location detail over and over again and again. If your internet connection is losing packets you are losing valuable information about your avatar's status in the virtual world.

If you are using a "wireless" connection to your router, please get a nice Cat5 cable and try using a wired connection. If you see an improvement, you have your answer.

If you are already on a "wired" connection your router or it's connection to you service may be at fault. Run a speed test to see the overall speed of your internet connection and if your latency [ping] value is a large number. If the test comes back with a warning about a high number of lost packets you need to take this up with your ISP.

NOTE: Satellite-based Internet is not considered a good method to connect to and use with SecondLife.

Another possible cause is a very nosy firewall solution on your PC or Router inspecting and/or discarding packets it has issues with.
