Omar,

Please give us additional information about your laptop so we may assist you further - Specifically the Model and Technical details. Just select the Options / Edit to update your question.

Here is my fear - Many Windows 7 Laptops have chipset graphics on the motherboards that are oriented for Video & Media playback only and do not support many of the advanced gaming requirements such as Shaders. The following link will identify chipset families that are compatible with SecondLife:

P.S. - Omar, while that GC has all the right features, here is a report on it from a Gamers Review site:

http://www.game-debate.com/hardware/index.php?gid=502&graphics=GeForce%20GT%20540M

Reading between the lines I think it's possible that it may not support SL too well as SL is a defacto "Advanced" gaming platform to use their terms. You may only be able to run the current viewers using the Medium to low Graphics settings.

What are the exact errors you are getting when trying to use a Mesh-enabled viewer?

No, it says Nvidia 6600 which is a fairly old card, not the new 600 series. I could run SL mesh viewers at Mid level using a Dell XPS fitted with a Nvidia 8600M (before it was stolen so can't test the latest viewers).

Are you using a wired connection? Trying to use a laptop with SL on a wireless connection could be the root of your problems if that is what you are doing. Also, unplug your router for a few minutes and let it clear its memory then plug it back in and see it that helps.

Singularity is a nice viewer, which recieves good reviews and you could give it a shot too.

I just looked up the specifications of your laptop and it seems to use Nvidia Optimus. I think what's happening is that your laptop is using the onboard Intel HD graphics and not the discrete Nvidia card. You may find the anserr here.

Remember too you must be plugged in to the mains and not running on battery for the laptop to switch.
