How do I pay for premium upgrade with Lindens?

I thought I read that I could pay for premium upgrade with Lindens, so I padded my Linden account to cover the upgrade, but when I tried to upgrade, I didn't have that option, PayPal only.  How do I pay for upgrade with Lindens, or get my Linden purchase refunded to my PayPal.

You pay Linden Lab from your US dollar balance, which you can replenish at any time either by importing USD from PayPal or by selling L$ that you may have in your account.  Linden Lab will always draw first on your US dollar balance and then turn to your PayPal account if your dollar balance is insufficient.  See >>> http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Billing/ta-p/700037#Section_.1.2 and other information on that same page.

I'm not sure you can upgrade using your US dollar balance on your account.  I've never heard of anyone doing it anyway.  You can, however, use the dollar balance to pay your subsequent premium fees and land use fees (tier).  But for upgrading to premium, I don't think so.  Upgrade using the method of payment LL specifies then use the balance to pay your fees later (when they are due).

LL does not accept $L in payment...for Premium dues, or anything else.  However, if you have $L, you can turn them into $USD by selling them.  Click the "Manage" button next to "Buy $L" on your dashboard page, left side, about halfway down.
