New membership question about $L

I signed up and it said I would recieve $1000L sign up bonus, and $300L a week as long as membership is active. I was wondering when I would recieve this? Because I was under the impression that the $1000L was instant and the $300L started on a specific day, like all mondays or something like that.

Dear Linden Lab,

A sign on bonus means that you receive the bonus upon signing on, not 45 days or any other amount of days. You will be loosing a lot of premium members if this is the way you are dealing with us new customers. You are mis leading customers. I would like answers to this. if this is the case I may as well be a free member.

I am not Linden Lab, and they don't tend to have many representatives here. This forum is mostly used by other users.

This is the way premium membership has always been, and it does indeed follow a standard considered typical in both the real world and the wider online gaming community.

The waiting period is to guarantee the first cycle of membership payment completes, prior to giving away 'free money'. To not do this would create an obvious (and costly) flaw in the Second Life economy.
