Could and seems likely LL is having a problem since they just began redoing the restarts they had done earlier in the blue steel regions.  Of course, there is no mention of that yet in grid status either, does that mean it isn't happening or does it mean that LL just does not want to talk about it.  Also i am having the same log in problem, and my connection is very definately working since I have a second character logged in and in operation.  I suggest you guys stop blowing smoke and face the fact there there may be a problem here.

When you have a small percent of people having the problem the OP stated and no additional info given what appears to be a knee jerk response really isn't.  We all deal with the apparent mish mash of programming and patches that is SL.

We do see regularly a lot of people who's troubles with SL are magnified by connection problems so it really is a logical place to start.

Reading the OP it is a logical conclusion they don't normally have this problem so unless there are more than the usual amount of problems with the servers, can you state a more logical place to start?

Diagnosing and fixing a problem requires a logical approach.

If you've ever seen a Doctor's note when they send out for tests it often reads "R.O."  Rule Out.  When I tore my meniscus that is exactly what the note said when the Doctor sent me for an MRI.  "R.O. Torn Meniscus."

I'm not saying that Linden Lab can't do a better job on the Server End but sadly we have little control over that.  What we can help with is the Client End and again, it takes a logical approach.  Too often we see people come  here screaming they did things like clean installs to no avail with out first checking this simple thing.
