Need a linden to fix my account for login, unicode group title bug

Question

My account is having issues, possibly due to this Unicode bug or whatever it is referred as, my main group has unicode characters in it which I believe is preventing login into the simulator.

error messages consist of either,

We're having trouble connecting. There may be a problem with your internet connection or the Second Life servers.

or

Login Failed. Unable to connect to a simulator.

 

if a Linden could set my group to none this would help very much.

Nothing in there suggest anything related to my case :( .  any other ideas people?

 

Nevermind. Add this to your knowledgebase.  PeerBlock blocks linden labs IP addresses preventing all logins to the system.

There are no Lindens here, you can only contact them by filing a Support ticket.

While you are hunting (and waiting) for them, log into SL with an alternate account, contact the owner of the group, or another manager with the power to alter group tags, and ask them to remove the unicode characters, or, failing that, to eject you from the group.

EDIT, responding to your additional information:  I'm glad you sussed the problem!

Regarding your limited support options -- this is because you have a Basic account.  For support with technical issues such as the one you had, you would need to upgrade to Premium.  Otherwise, you have to muddle along with advice from us residents here on the Answers forum. :)
