How do I sell lindens?

I am a basic member and want to sell my lindens.  My US balance is 0 and I am not sure how I can raise it.  I know this question must have asked a few million times but for the life of me I can NOT find anything.  I've become very confused and frustrated trying to figure this out, seems as if it's a breeze to buy but next to impossible to sell. 

Please help, I feel as if I am going crazy.

Please don't go crazy.  It's really quite an easy two-step process.  First, you sell your L$ on the Lindex exchange, which operates like any RL currency exchange or stock market.  Other SL residents buy your L$ at the current market value or your asking price (if you have set a limit).  Then, the proceeds from your trade are deposited in your USD balance, which you can use for paying land fees or other obligation, or can send to yourself through PayPal.  The first step --- trading on the Lindex -- is described here >>> http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Buying-and-selling-Linden-dollars/ta-p/700107 .  The second step -- issuing a credit payout request -- is covered here >>> http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Account-balance/ta-p/700015#Section_.2

There are just a couple of small tricks.

First:  You have to have BOUGHT $L at least once, before you can sell them.

Second:  The sell $L function is on the left side of your dashboard.  Right next to where it says Buy $L, is another link that says "Manage".  Click that.

Third:  If you want to move the funds from your $USD balance to Real Life, your payment method will need to be a verified PayPal account, not a credit card.

Fourth:  If you can't get a PayPal account, you can sell your $L on a reputable third party site, such as VirWox.  Follow their directions for getting cash out.
