Dale,

Other than..

1) It's totally against the LL TOS for them to have given you this information

2) If this is a Premium Account then their Payment Method is available to you to drain real world cash from'

3) You can impersonate them and experience all their previous Karma, good & Bad.

If it was given to you as a request via a Last Will and Testament just be careful and complete the business you have been asked to do.

There is extreme danger for them. Once you can log in to their account, you will be able to empty their L$, transfer any transferable items from their inventory to yours, get all of their RL contact information, change their password to deny them access to the account, and do all sorts of illegal activities, for which THEY will be blamed.  That was an incredibly stupid thing for the person to do.  If you are a friend, the smartest thing you can do is to tell the person to change the password IMMEDIATELY and not let you or anyone else have it.

Danger to you? Yes, of course.  If things go wrong (they will, sooner or later), your friend can't blame you for messing up the account without implicating himself for giving you access.  When he complains to Linden Lab to protect his stuff, though, you'll both go down.  You're risking a friendship and access to SL for both of you.

This is sort of like, "Friends don't let friends drive drunk."  Your "someone" did something very foolish.  You're not being a friend if you abet their foolishness.

EDIT:  I just thought of something that could be a danger to YOU.  I can envision a situation where someone gives you a URL, and says that it's to their account.  When you browse to it, you are asked to first sign in with YOUR credentials.  That's a phishing scam, and if you fall for it, YOUR account is open to the con artist.  Who was this "someone" who wants you to access their account?  A friend?  Or a stranger?
