Hi Alpharomeo, welcome to Second Life!

We're just residents like you on this help forum, so it's not "our" account page, but Linden Lab's.

First off, you don't need $L when you are just starting out.  There are tons of freebies available, and I recommend you make use of them.  Use Search to look for "freebies" and you will get lots of hits.

Second, LL does not accept most debit or prepaid cards.  You can call Billing Support for further help, here are their numbers:

______________________________________________________________

US/Canada: 800-294-1067
France: 0805-101-490
Germany: 0800-664-5510
Japan: 0066-33-132-830
Portugal: 800-814-450
Spain: 800-300-560
UK: 0800-048-4646
Brazil: 0800-762-1132

Long distance ( not free, but you can use Skype to save some cost ) : 703-286-6277
**Note: Support is offered only in English

I'm afraid that's going to be an international call for you, but if you have Skype, it may be less onerous.

On a final note, there are third party sites where you can buy or sell $L, and many of them accept cards that Linden Lab won't.  I've used a site called VirWox with good results.

I am in India, but your account page does not have any option for states in India. How do I buy Linden with a debit card when I cannot progress beyond the 'state ' I belong to as only USA states are mentioned

I?m from Spain, I have a debit card as Billing Info, and I don't understand your problem.

When you add a Debit Card yo your Billing Info ( https://cashier.secondlife.com//addpm/ ) the system don't ask about USA states, only ask ZIP/Postal Code and City.
