There are no aps that will allow you to use sl graphically on an iPad. The best you can do is PocketMetaverse.

It will let you .......

• Chat in local chat
• Chat in IMs
• TP (most of the time... This sometimes fails)
• View photos and textures (Though accessing inventory will often cause the ap to crash)
• Listen to the parcel stream.
• Accept new inventory from avatars. **if you are logged on and receive an inventory offer from a scripted object such as from marketplace or a vendor then it WILL autodecline and does not go to trash. So be careful of this.
• Accept and make friendship offers.

You will not be able to see a thing in world, however.

No. If you absolutely must use voice, try Skype. An iPad is barely powerful enough to handle text-only Pocket Metaverse for SL.

You can't download it to your I Pad but you can play second life using Team Viewer 8.  I actually use my kindle fire HD to play.  Graphics are pretty good and the delay is slight so I know the I Pad should be able to handle it.
