Leander Philbin
Hello,I recently picked up a scripted object (from a hunt so it's not griefed on purpose). After I wore the object, I detached it, put it in my trash, emptied my trash, and have logged off and on more than once and yet, when I log on again I get the following message in an endless loop "Script trying to trigger animations but PERMISSION_TRIGGER_ANIMATION permission not set".....help! Rolig Loon
You're evidently still wearing something that has the script in it -- or maybe you dropped it nearby when you thought you were detaching it. A script can't do anything unless it is in an object in world. That message is usually triggered when the script is trying to stop an animation after permission to animate has been revoked -- commonly when you stand up or detach the object unexpectedly. You're going to have to find the attached object and delete it.
Leander Philbin
I detached everything I had on, and the loop continued. I went back to the place I originally detached the object and the script error icon (yellow triangle & piece of paper) appears but there's nothing physucally there. Innula Zenovka
Just to add to Rolig's reply, if you're using the latest version of the Official Viewer (3.3.1 or higher), the error message now gives the z coordinate, as well as the x and y coordinates, of the object containing the script that's got the error, so it should be a lot easier to track down than it used to be! ETA --the object will be where that little icon is (if you click the icon, it opens the full error window). Try selecting it by drawing a box round it with the edit window open. World-Show Beacons-Scripted Objects should help, too. Since it's an attachment, it's probably tiny and invisible, but it's there, I promise you.
Leander Philbin
found it, on the groud, under the icon...very tiny,,,but I still wonder why the error continued even if I TP'd...maybe just lagged.
Innula Zenovka
Great that you found it! As to why the message persisted, there's several things -- llOwnerSay and llDialog, certainly -- that should only work when you're on the same sim as the object but, in practice, sometimes continue to reach you for a little while (30 seconds or so) after you've left the sim. I can only think that the script error message was persuing you for the same reason.
Dilbert Dilweg
Sounds like you "dropped" the item and it was owned by you. So you will keep getting that script error till either the script was reset or it was removed off land. I have a bunch of old pose balls that will do this after a region restart if the agents were still on the poseball at the time the sim went down. so the script would error constantly trying to find the agent that was on the ball, till i reset the scripts, which these errors will only be seen when you enter the region The script was trying to do its job but lost you so it kept sending those errors
