i cannot launch the second life viewer on windows vista

for a long time, i have been unable to launch the second life viewer on windows vista. it downloads fine, but when i try to launch i get a black and gray screen.  i am able to use the phoenix viewer with no issues. installed for graphics is ATI mobility radeon X1400.  any suggestions?

That is a graphic card driver issue. Try updating to a newer driver version if available.

The ATI Mobiltiy Radeon™ X1400 Graphic Card is a pretty low end card. Here is the link for the latest driver from AMD:

Go to this page and download the detect software and let AMD do the rest of the work.

The older technology Phoenix SL Client software may be your only choice at this time.
