Can the owner of a group mute one or more members without muting the whole group?

Wouldn't it just be easier to eject the person?  After all, if the owner doesn't want the person to talk, why would she want her in the group?

Anyway ... the answer is no.

As Rolig already pointed out there is no feature to mute a particular person in a group. The person can be ejected, but if the group set to open enrollment, they can join the group again though.
