I'm having problems getting the instructions for changing my password send to my email address

I use the viewer that comes with Second Life when you download it.   I believer it's called V2, but it's updated and gives me no problems except for one.   I've recently started using my old avi and when I try to log in I get a message saying the password in incorrect.   I've clicked on "Forgot Your Username Or Password" and have requested the information sent to my email address but it never arrives and is not in my Spam Folder.   I can still use my old avi by using FireStorm, access the MarketPlace, and so forth by using FireStrom but I really want to use V2.    Can someone please tell me what to do to get the info sent to my email address so I can change the password?    Thank you.

 

 

My email adress is correct, I've check that also.   I don't know how to post on here again after I ask a question so I clicked Edit Question to let you know.   Since the email address is correct, my username is spelled correctly, what should my next option be?

 

Someone please help me.......since it appears that somehow my password was saved wrong, then how can i get a new one?   I cant change my email address, to have them send the info to it because I'm asked to type my password (and it's saved wrong) so now what do I do???????

 

As of last night I have also filed a  a claim asking for help with this issue but have not heard back from anyone yet.  I know that may take some time, but I would love to still figure out what the problem is.   To repeat my earlier problem ---- I am unable to log into SL by using the SL viewer ( my username is spelled correctly ) due to it saying my password is incorrect.  I have tried to send for the temp password to my email address ( which is also spelled correctly ) but it never arrives.  I have attempted to change my email address but learned I needed to enter my password in order to do that ( the password is saved incorrectly and I dont know what it is).  I can access my account anywhere that has my password saved correctly except to log onto the SL viewer.   Since I am not getting the reset info in my email address, am unable to change the password due to not knowing how it's saved, and all the other important information is correct ( minus the incorrect password ), then what steps need to be taken to resolve this issue?   I do not wish to spend more money trying to recreate this avi just so I can use the SL viewer, and I do not have a phone to use to call Support.   Is there anything else that can be done????

Are you sure it's being sent to the right e-mail address?  Check on your dashboard at secondlife.com >> Account >> Contact Information .

If you can log in to Firestorm with that password, though, you ought to be able to log in to V3 as well.  SL's server's don't care which viewer sends the login information.  My first suspicion would be that you have mistyped either your username or the password, so now it's been saved incorrectly and is being auto-filled when you try to log in.  Being a crummy typist, that's the sort of thing I would do.
