how do i sell clothing that i am not using anymore?

I have all this clothing in my inventory that i dont use anymore since my secondlife makeover. How can i sell it?

There is a used items category in the Marketplace:

You may have to check your objects's permissions (are they transferable? Does the creator gave you perms to resell them?). Having a close look at the items for sale in the link above may help you to understand how it works. :smileyhappy:

You can probably find a yard sale where you can sell unwanted items. Take a look in Search. Take a pic of you in the outfit, slap it on a box, and pack the outfit up.

There's also a reseller who's currently looking for select items to sell in his shop. Look in the Wanted sub-Forum.

ETA: As Val points out, you need to check the permissions on any items you want to sell.

With great difficulty and probably not worth the effort. unless the clothing is from expensive high quality stores. You will have to check permissions for every item in the folder (best done by transferring the folder to an alt to check), then, unless you are fortunate in that the creators included a photo in the folder, you will have to pose for photos, compile a poster in an image program, pay 10L for each poster uploaded, rent a place to sell them, pay to advertise etc. You'll probably lose money or make so little you'll wish you never bothered.

Most of the so-called used clothing on Marketplace seems to me to be freebie items masquerading as second hand clothing. The rest is run-of-the mill stuff I doubt many people give a second glance to.

If the clothing is transferable, you might want to visit an infohub or welcome area where new residents can be found and ask if anyone would like a free item.  Giving out your unused, transferable items to someone starting new can be fun.

lol I tried that once a long time ago with some very nice outfits I no longer wanted. However, I was treated with such suspicion by newbies (maybe warned to beware of being scammed in Second Life) that I gave up fairly quickly.

Lol! I have given away a couple of Last Call formal dresses on my feed. It is easy to post a nice photo with some details and I ask for the first avatar who is less than 30 days old to let me know they want it and then I give it away. I was very suspicious as a newbie, too!
