I have that product ready to face the makret along with 4 more equal outfits of the different colors.

I think the  model of the wrong species regardless of beauty, can kill your sales what do you think?

I tried to find a good cheap woman avi, none of them seem to fit. maybe I'm crazy.

PD: Is not for sale yet

No it won't.

Looking from my point of view there are few things I would change before releasing this item....

Her hair, looks rather newbie. Plastic.

Those parts at the end of the sleeves are going in her hand.

Right arm and left elbow needs fixing. Also her belly and that prim part around her waist.

The background is wrong.

There is no floor (is she floating in the air? If so, give her some nice wings lol)

Put a shadow below her or behind.

Change font. Make those letters pop! And switch texts, price up and description down.

There is no reason to change the avatar, you just need to represent her in the best possible way:)

Crazy is good, great actually, just put some life in your model.

To be simple and frank, you will lose sales to people who carry an anti-furry sentiment.  In a way, that might be a good thing, considering they're probably people you be better off never doing business wth. (^_^)

As for your presentation; I'd nitpick far more about the background.  It's near identical to the dress itself resulting in a lack of "start" and "stop" points for the potential buyer to look for.  I would suggest a more abstract or wall-like background carrying a victorian paper theme in contrasting colours which won't cause your head and hands to blend away too much.  Something in an oak/bronze theme, just to throw out a suggestion. (^_^)

Otherwise, that's a rather nice dress with a reasonably good presentation.  Those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter. (^_^)y

I Fully  of agree with the background, didnt realized iuntil I made it,  I will find a clear colored background, and wa floor, I will certainly add a shadow.

I will have to build a floor and a wall.. or find some place to shoot.

I forgot to say something... that maybe if U put a furry there which would be myself I may unintentionally make it demographic oriented, which I dont want to I dont care the species of those who wear it, I have sold inworld some and given way too, and look good in any species.

mew mew ma mew, kapoooo :matte-motes-asleep:

Your ad represents who you are targeting it for, if you want both furry and human, i would suggest two pictures.

For me, the entire presentation has to say , wow i want that dress. So the model is important, as is the fit.  The first thing i actually saw when i looked was that the prim skirt does not fit right at the front, and that drives me crazy :)

I would spend time getting the belt/sash thing so it flows over the prims and stays over them.

i dont see any shoes either, so not sure why would say shoes not included

I must clarify I'm a complete noob, I have been building for years but I want something from them isntead of just giving them away. I want a place I can call home, a parcel, and go to have fun in the clubs instead of hosting in them.

I tried to seek the aid of a model/photographer. but I was too slow to decide and they don't reply back now.

(dont even suggest me to buy lindens that's a NO-NO)

I would make the background a different color before anything else. It absolutely absorbs your dress.

I am not a furry so I can't say how a furry wearing resident would respond. Personally I would be a little confused if the ad was aimed at me or not, I confess. If I liked the dress enough, I would ignore it (back when I used to go to Tombstone, and so, buy Victorian stuff.)

Do you want some help picking out a human av? Well not to flog my store but it's all free for personal use, stop by and see if any of the avs there fit what you have in mind. Actually I have one that I never used yet that might be a good model for you but she's a bit petite. But there are tall skinnier ones in the store. They have styling cards if you are out of practice finding human hair in world. Or just IM/NC me I will help you shop.  I don't care where, just tell me what you have in mind and I'll try to help - if you want that.

And by the way a lot of sandboxes have free photo globes. There is one in teh sky over the Forum Cartel Hangout too. The poses are all old or freebies, but they work, especially if you zoom in or turn the camera or av a little bit. The 60L weekend has some poses for sale at 60L this weekend. I am going to buy them for my own future photo-taking.

I hate HAVING TO take pix in world, otherwise I enjoy it. The part I hate is how the mesh deforms when in some poses. Or the jaggedy edges in the pictures. I think  your photo is pretty much just fine, at least it is not too cluttered which is a mistake most people make. Keep it basic if you can't do the fancy tricks in photoshop yet.

As for the clothes or hair going through the av just edit that when you are in a pose.

I use a plain color background on mine and before I go I take a photo of just that background without an avatar in it. In case there is a composite later.

mew :)

as an add one about teh wrong model, i came across to models for a hair i bought,

If i had have seen the second link ad first and never the first i would never have bought the hair.

The model represents what you are trying to say, either you can look great in it, or like you just woke up out of your coffin.

No need to mew to me :3 I prefer not to use furry modisms in language.

I got an offer from a woman whose name will remain in the dark saying that she will model free of any charge.

"I would gladly model your dress free of charge. I have many dresses like this, and it would look great on me for your ad. If your interested let me know and your hours.

XXXXX"

VERY OPORTUNE. But I still would not change my set of beliefs

Not to take away from the mysterious model, who Zantyago did tell me about also; but just for fun I tried it on and ended up snapping some pix of it. So here is a taste of what the gown looks like on a 'human avatar' - and in one you can see Zantyago in the background also for the back view of this gown (an accident, but I snapped a pic anyway, and liked it.)

I'm wearing a shape I'm in the middle of working on, so this isn't my usual av. But it kind of made me think of San Francisco around 1890, no?

I don't think the wrong model will hurt your sales but if you are marketing the item to ALL then it might not be a bad idea to include a photo of maybe 2 people...one furry and one human in the same picture wearing the dress. That way furries and humans will be able to relate to one or the other and know how the dress will look on themselves. Like already mentioned, whatever avatar you use you should show that (and the ad picture) in the best of your abilities.

I am excited to see how your final picture will turn out!

Playing devils advocate, while those here have said the model doesn't matter.  There are plenty who having nothing against furries or skeletons or cardboard box avatars but if they can't visualise themselves in the dress because the reference avatar is not something they can relate to then YES it will impact sales.

Also, for me, the advert doesn't list permissions and I really don't have time or the interest to inspect the content of every box, especially since some are likely to be vendors or boxed content.  Just put the permissions on the ad.

Oh and show both the front and the back please.

:)

*takes more notes*

You are being of really seriously good help, I trully appreciate it. :3

makes me wonder, has ever anyone marketed the same porducto for furries and humans at once?

It feels unprecendented, as both tend to separate from eachother.

I will have both models. I got the help of a very cute white ocelot girl (no neon fur colors allowed)

The human Model gave me this

Jacki will do great at it. To answer the question you asked here, I do not remember seeing a human and furry avatar in one ad before. I don't know for sure either way if it has happened before.

I wanted to add that the gown comes with a shorter skirt too. That's kind of cool. Someone's suggestion about putting the object permissions in is good. Might also include that it comes with a shorter skirt, if you haven't already. And of course, price.

replying as purely a shopper...I agree with Sassy, call me unimaginative but I just wouldnt be able to visualise myself in that dress if its modelled by that avatar.

Some suggestions from me...

I would change the background, the gown and background both being purple makes the gown hard to see. I like the other bg much better. And the ones with the garden inworld locations.

I dont think you need to change the avatar if you demographic is victorian furries. But if you want to sell to to human shaped avatars too I would suggest getting a human avatar.

Or ask a friend who you think looks nice, maybe she can help out. :)

Get a different hair.It looks very newbie-ish and fake.

It's the wrong model and the wrong background

1- You are selling the DRESS ... so take screenshots with an uncluttered background that lets the dress details stand out. Purple drapes and a purple dress is camoflauge, not advertising.  the shot against the tree was poor because the cluttered background made it hard to see the dress.

2 - If there are multiple versions, and accessories, show them in secondary pictures. A view with the short skirt and a closeup of the hat would help sell.

3 - Don't put informaiton that might change (like price) on the ad text. You  don't need ad text for the marketplace ... the permissions and price go into the listing.

If it's a dress or hat made for specific sculpted or mesh furries, use that furry. But if it fits on a normal system shape, use human and furry in the ad.

The original post says "ready for market" not Marketplace.  As such it's reasonable to assume that it may also be sold inworld, in which case to avoid the purchaser having to hunt the price and permissions, my vote remains firm that they be on the advert :)

Always make it easy for someone to spend money.
