No specs equals no help.  Only guesses.

Launch your viewer but dont lot in (it will just crash again).  Under the help menu click on "About Second Life".  Copy the specs shown and paste back here.  Use the "Options" in the upper right hand corner of your post add the specs and any other comments you want.  Just click "Edit"...........don't start a new thread to add the specs and comments.

Welcome to Second Life Answers, LHLeno.

There are many reasons why this could be happening, but as Peggy says, we need more information from you.

My guess would be either internet problems - ensure you are not using a wireless connection - and/or not enough RAM available to run Second Life.

Please provide more info.

I just went through a devil of a time having the same thing happen with both V2 and Firestorm...went to log in, the programs started, white screen came up, a couple little boxes about loading the world appeared, and then back to white. If I started Task Manager sometimes the main login screen would show up but nothing would respond except the minimize screen buttons...and then when maximized the screen would be back to all white or all black...grrr!

So I started playing around with my monitor and graphics settings. All my internet windows worked fine, other programs I tried ran, just no response from SL...UNTIL! By chance I tried something that made Windows 7 shift my 'Color Scheme' from 'Aero' to 'Basic'. Bam, the SL program was responding. If I switched it back to the Aero scheme, it stopped responding again. So some incompatability thing is going on but for now running with a Basic color scheme (set in the Control Panel>Appearance>Personalization>Change Theme screen) seems to solve my problem.

I just swapped monitors before all this started happening so maybe something in the autodetect made my life difficult.
