/me waves to fellow Brits~~~

I'm currently living in the US now, so wrong time zone to socialise with most other Brits but I'll join, maybe we can get lots of other expat Brits in and spread over more times zones! I find expats often want to group together even more because we miss home and want to chat with other Brits so that they can remind us how to spell correctly! (it's not aluminum it's aluminium!!) :womanwink:

I'm English (look, I write 'colour' and drink tea!) and I've met plenty of fellow Brits over my years in SL. One of my closest friends here actually lives only a few miles from me in RL. We met up through SL, and we've never met in RL.

I've no special need to hang about with others of my nationality - I can do that any day by just stepping out my door. Part of the charm of SL is the umber of other cultures I get to interact with regularly. Often by the online equivalent of speaking slowly and clearly in English and hoping they can do the same.

It will really be nice when all of us Earthlings embrace the fact that we're ALL related. We're all part of something much larger than mere groups who may reside and/or have been born in the same general area. We were all born on Earth. We were all made from elements of stars. We're all infinitesimally minute, yet at the same time all amazingly special and precious.

Brits are a rare breed. I'd say 1 in 50 people I see is a brit. I dont mind so much exept as evrehones american we fundrase for america and we celebrate american holadays and find that when we find an empty parcel the land baron has put up american food stands as decoration.

It would be nice if there was more intanational stuff rather than just american stuff. It can provide  a talking point and we can learn about each other after finding that one thing in common.

Chip vans! Cups of tea! Cricket! Red pillar boxes, double-deckers and St. George! Ford Zephyrs instead of Cadillacs! And if we can't have our way, pelt them with steak and kidney puddings.
