Is Second Life only about sex?

Hmm - found this:

Parthenogenetic offspring in species that use either the XY or the X0 sex-determination system have two X chromosomes and are female. In species that use the ZW sex-determination system, they have either two Z chromosomes (male) or two W chromosomes (mostly non-viable but rarely a female), or they could have one Z and one W chromosome (female).

I thought we all agree Jesus was of the XY primate type... are there any church doctrines which contradict?

Beats me, I don't follow any church doctrines.

However, my comment was really just about the part of "always" resulting in a girlie.

Some species can also change sex (in a dirth of the opposite sex, for instance).  What if Jesus was partho'd as a girl, then changed?

If you thought the look on the Pope's face was going to be bad, when you tell him that Cheesus must have been a girl, imagine how he'll react when you tell him Cheesus was also a frog...

Maybe you'd have better luck sticking to trying to prove Cheesus even existed, than proving his mother had a "virgin birth", which at the time technically meant nothing more than "has not had a kid before", because the Hebrews were pathologically afraid of nudity, and had NO concept of basic reproductive medicine what so ever.

Popes tend to be old, the shock of discovering he and his buddies have spent 2000 years worshiping a trans-sexual amphibian might be more than his ticker can take...

By total coincidence, I am reading a daily “journey through scripture for gender-queer and Transgender people”, and the piece I just read had “scriptural justification” for Jesus being non-binary.

I thought about creating a religion a few times.  It might be fun until the followers misused it.

How about science?  Assuming Mary was a virgin, thus no male was involved, where did the X chromosome come from?  No where, that's where.  Jesus was an XX male.  Yes, it happens; life likes to color outside the lines on occasion.

parthenogenesis in XY sexual species* always results in a girlie, now of course if Jesus actually was a girlie...

The fact that he wasn't is what makes it a miracle, and not an extremely rare natural event

I do not believe in miracles, though I do believe that many people believe in them. And because of that, claims of virgin births are not rare at all...

I think some people think SL means "***** Life" when it really doesn't. Plus most users ive ran into for that stuff are always Middle Eastern or Eastern type people, oh AND ALWAYS at least 40 or older.... Like come on.... Seriously can people be THAT depraved or perverted?

I don't think we need to cast aspersions on race or age here.

That is casting aspersions whether you think so or not. And I quite agree with Garnet: it's not needed.

Hmmm personal experience of having been propositioned, all to often, in SL, tends to suggest mostly Americans, Europeans, Brits or Brazilians, but your experience may differ.

As for being always over 40, I VERY much doubt, again based on experience in SL, that the majority of them told you their RL ages or put that info on their profiles..

Assuming you occasionally leave the house, and actually MEET other people, how can you ask that question with a straight face...

Check the % of internet based e-commerce that's based on porn sites, casual sex hookup sites, sexy singles, etc.

Fine fine, no need to come at me like an SJW

Ah... That kind of response... People who disagree with your questionable assumptions are "SJW's"...

Once upon a time it was mostly about Naruto, The Empire shopping district, shooting people with weird gadgets, Lost City of Angels, renting an Apartment and then losing it a week later due to... reasons, and the .Hack sim.

Back in it's glory days, there were RP sims everywhere.   Now all we have are glory-h...i'll stop there.

But in all seriousness, there is a lot more to Second life then the urges of the flesh, but what we do have can be somewhat tedious to discover.

Nope. I didn't have a place any sort of. My place is where I sit down. And near to my first rez day I'm still an SL virgin I don't even have a you know what. And I want to keep this way.

I don't have any sort of place either.  I go where the mood strikes me and that ranges from PG to adult sims.  I don't rely on other people's behavior to avoid sex.  I seem to be able to say "No thank you" just fine.

For me, Second Life is about building.  I'm looking forward to digging into Blender and the dark mystery of rigged mesh.  I've already done some scripting and am working on getting a product up on  MP.  It's also about meeting people and chatting and learning.  It's about couples dancing and live music.  And it's about exploring beautiful spots and looking for that oh-so-perfect photo.  It's about going to clubs I wouldn't go to in the real world and being exposed to music (and people) that I otherwise wouldn't run into.  I make random games for myself all the time like my challenge to update my 10 year old avi on a budget of 1250 lindens... suitable for beach to ballroom.

Second life is a world where I might as well be a wizard.  With the right skills I can bend and warp it to my will.  It seems obvious to me that my Second Life is about what I make of it.  Here's a part of what I've made of it.

So the responses here seem to range from denialism ("There is quite a bit more to Sl than sex") to the puritanical ("a few guys that would come in looking for sex and they would quickly be removed or asked to stop..") to the tortured ("I have never taken a spin on one of those beds and I make babies and tummy systems that are designed for couples.") What I don't see, is any actual talk about what there is to do, outside of romancing, coupling and screwing. I have been to art sims, and sims that recreate beautiful seaside resorts, and reconstructions of New York, London, and other cities. They tend to be empty of people (except London--where strangers can meet up and verify RL gender with voice--hmmm). What those non-sex/romance sites lack is frisson. They are pretty to look at and walk around in, but the novelty of 3d-immersion is over. I am not interested in an abstinence-only Second Life. But it would be great if we could come up with something to do when we're done with bumping uglies.
