Have mod permissions but can't mod?

I bought a skirt with mod/copy permissions, but seem unable to resize it.  The object description says "You cannot modify this object," even though the inventory shows it as only no-trans.  Whether I wear it or rez it on the ground, resizing is disabled.  Could anyone explain or help me resize it?  (BTW, there are no resize scripts in the object, either).

That's really weird. I was going to say that it may be a script until I read the last line of your post. Have you tried to contact the creator about the issue. More than likely they'll be more then happy to give you another copy if you explain the issue.

It could just be SL.  I have an  item that is supposed to be mod and today its showing as no mod in my inventory, but if I rez it I can mod it .... and no there is no no mod items in its contents.  You may want to wait and try again later or tomorrow.  Sometimes these types of issues clear up no their own in my experience.

Thanks... I contacted the creator and she fixed it.  It had something to do with setting permissions when objects are rezzed instead of in the inventory (or the other way around!)  It's still strange, because the object looks copy/mod, only I can't actually do those things!

Yes, I've had similar experiences, but never the case of a mod object that's un-moddable.

The bug is that if you set perms while in your inventory and not while rezzed they can revert, which then makes what looks to be mod, uneditable and messes with perms when taken back into inventory. It is an awful bug, and worse is that the creator will see it as mod and not be aware at all unless notified.
