"A lovely new area has been built in SSPE1109 with new Stilt Linden homes along the coastline including a new tall bridge in SSPE1108 connecting the log homes with the Stilt homes. The Moles have added a whole bunch of new Stilt Linden homes in SSPE1734 which is still under going development currently." Read more on the blog.

"If you know me, you know that I love winter with its cold and the fluffy snow that covers everything with a soft and white mantle. But after a while, I also need sun, light, and heat and, after another stay in a ski resort (check Dirk's review on Aurora Ski Retreat here), the idea of spending a weekend at the beach sounded fantastic to me!" "This place is beautiful shadow-draped historically styled region based on ancient Persia of 550B.C. Arriving through some undergrowth to the bottom of a set of steps drenched in shadows of statues cast by purple moonlight, it has got to to be one of my favourite region arrivals for quite a while." "If you are an explorer of Second Life with a love of travel with vehicles instead of lazy bug teleporting, Frankie Lindman owns destinations five destinations over four continents for you to navigate. You could teleport between them but that be being a lazy bug." Read more on the blog.

"There is this really great new sim called Cravone City. Its an urban New York style sim. Being a New Yorker myself, I am always drawn to that urban scene: the hustle, the bustle, the crossing the street and not getting hit by a taxi - you know normal city stuff. So when i visited it I had this idea. I called an old friend of mine to do a field trip with me - Strawberry Linden." Read more on Flickr.

"I’ve spent so much time in all kinds of clubs and sims, that I almost forgot I’m an Elf! Not really, of course I know what I am. But yeah, it was time for some serious Elfing around and so I headed to Hera’s new sim: Golgothica." Read more on the blog.
"I’d previously heard good things about NuWave Destinations, the team that runs the Thai-themed Savasdee Resort (and will soon be opening Cairo Garden City) so I was keen to finally review it." Read more on the blog.
"The Serena Zanzibar is the latest venture from the Batista family, which has run Second Life hospitality businesses for a decade, starting with a restaurant, then a bed and breakfast, and then finally moving onto resorts." Read more on the blog.
"Lightning Bolt is the name selected by Valarie Muffin Meow (Zalindah) for her latest region creation. It’s an interesting name that appears to be less connected with the region’s presentation than with the fact that it is likely only to be around for a limited period of time, as the About Land description notes:" Read more on the blog.
"In the United States’ modern mythology, Route 66, established in the 1920s, emerged as a symbolic way to hope and freedom, to the promises of a better life or to the dreams of a more authentic existence on earth. This set of images also comes to my mind when I visit Mother Road – Mirage Motel 66 in Second Life, which, together with its neighbor sims, presents a small town built on the desert along a representation of probably the most famous highway that the US has had." "Thanks to the suggestion of Jarla Capalini, a photographer I think is excellent in the panorama of SL bloggers, I had the pleasure to know Skrunda 2, a new destination with a post-apocalyptic/grunge style." Read more on the blog.
"The other week I explored Planet Idun, a Sci Fi jungle planet. Great for free form roleplay and photography. I took some pretty pics (if I may say so) and planned to return for some more exploring and information for a blogpost. So I did tonight, alas the region is closed, open only to certain groups." "I started to landmark hop and landed on some stunning rental sims, sadly we’re almost outta luck if we want to rent any of the homes spread over ten sims as I could only see two actual vacancies and two which were soon to be vacant but I suspect as soon as a vacancy comes up it’s snapped up." "Not everyone was here in the years of Second Life's infancy. Before sculpts, before mesh, before Windlight. In many ways -- for those of us that were here -- it was the best of times. Yes, we frequently ended up with shoes and hair in our crotches when teleporting and yes the grid did shut down purposefully for updates each week, but it was arguably the most creative times in SL history." "Via Nodoka Hanamura, this week's virtual world location gracing New World Notes' banner is Hiraya Village in Second Life, a community based around a highly-detailed recreation of modern urban cityscapes of Japan." Read more on the blog.

"There are a number of excellent vacation resorts in Second Life, where you book in advance and get a group tag on check in. Unfortunately there are far fewer hotels I've been able to recommend that look and feel like their RL equivalents, and where just like in RL you can meet people at the bar or restaurant even if you are not staying there."
