"For my end-of-the-year rundown of favorite blogs, I want to feature those that don’t fit into my usual fashion and decor blog highlights. “Through Owl’s Eyes” by Owl Dragonash is a blog that focuses on Second Life arts and culture. She has her own art gallery which she promotes, but also promotes the work of other people and other blogs. It is the blog of a generous person whose goal is to amplify other people’s efforts." "I often struggle with titles for my pictures. I sometimes show the picture to friends, and say ‘one word, what do you see?’. It helps. Sometimes. I showed this picture to a friend yesterday, and asked the same question. This is what he said, ‘That’s great hair! And you look stunning!’ Well, It wasn’t one word, but it made me smile. He was right too, that IS great hair!" Read more on the blog.

"I don’t believe in New Year’s resolutions. I feel that that is a fantastic way to procrastinate. Like on January 1, a person resolves that by the end of the year they will change X, Y and Z. It gives them a whole year to “try” or simply forget about it, only to have the same resolution for that new year. I feel like I often say I am having a difficult time to the point where it sounds overly dramatic. I have to remind myself that given the world’s current climate; perhaps, it is more realistic than hyperbolic." Read more on the blog.

No time for real life - 1.jpg

"I found the motherload for the new year right here in Second Life. What is new for 2021? I do hope the new year brings lots of exciting adventures to you. I like to learn a new skill and hopefully this time I will actually complete it. Maybe make some more Second Life Videos or since this was a tip of a "friend" use Second Life as a teaching tool for my classroom. Who knows, it may be fun." Read more on the blog.

Virtual Bloke - 1.jpg

"Since mesh heads and bodies first started appearing in SL, residents appear to have divided into several types: those who strike out and aren’t afraid to try new things and change things up constantly, those who struggle through getting their avatar set up and resolve never to touch it once that’s done, those who can’t face dealing with setting up their avatars themselves and who get someone else to do it for them, those who buy a mesh head and body and stick with all the default settings, those who tried mesh heads and bodies once and got so frustrated with them that they reverted back to system avatars, those who are a hybrid of system head and mesh body, and those who don’t want to know about mesh at all and would rather remain their system selves."
