"There are a number of excellent vacation resorts in Second Life, where you book in advance and get a group tag on check in. Unfortunately there are far fewer hotels I've been able to recommend that look and feel like their RL equivalents, and  where just like in RL you can meet people at the bar or restaurant even if you are not staying there." "The Kidaka Resort is an African safari themed resort from the creators of the (now closed) Lotus Palace.  It features a low rise hotel / safari lodge set against a beach, and a larger savanna area where you’ll find elephants, lions and other wildlife." Read more on the blog.

"The Hotel Skade is located on Route 8a in Satori.  Built by the owners of Hotel Freya (see review), it has four cheap (19L) and basic rooms, along with a small outdoor area and petrol station. It's only a short distance from the Le Chateau Resort complex, so I decided to take a look." "The Grandviewe is a small hotel located off of Route 5 on Heterocera.  Outwardly it’s picturesque and it's worth coming to visit just to hang out by the infinity pool." Read more on the blog.

"The Empire Hotel is the centrepiece of Omerta City, a kind of noir themed town situated by a dock.  The town itself is geared up for RP with lots of individual venues, while the Hotel contains a restaurant, bakery, nightclub and photo-studio.  

Though it’s still very much work in progress, it’s imaginative and really well done.  I found it a joy to explore and discover. Highly recommended and worth a visit."

"Recently Aria and I were among the first guests to stay at the Crown Grand Majestic Bali, which as the name suggests, is Balinese-themed.

SL has a glut of beach resorts right now, which makes it hard to stand out.  

And so, though it didn’t seem radically different to a number of other beach places we’ve seen, we still found it a nicely designed resort with staff who are clearly committed to providing a good experience for guests."

"The Sea Horizon is a small hotel with twelve rooms and a pool.  I came across it while doing one of my regular hotel searches in the SL directory, and decided to take a look, renting a room. Though I wouldn’t class it as a vacation place, as it is simple with limited facilities, the rooms themselves are quite nicely done and there is a fairly large pool.  As a result, this could be an option if you want to base yourself somewhere temporarily." "I’d previously heard good things about NuWave Destinations, the team that runs the Thai-themed Savasdee Resort (and will soon be opening Cairo Garden City) so I was keen to finally review it." Read more on the blog.

"Royal Crest Isles reminds me a lot of the Fiji Resort, which I previously reviewed in November 2020. Many of the same decorations and buildings, including the villa I stayed in ( which is the same one I use for my home) are identical to the Fiji Resort. This time, however, the theme is more of an unspecific tropical setting." "Back in October when I started this website, I just missed out on a number of Second Life Hotels, which had closed for the Winter season. One of those was the Royal Bali Resort, which from the website, looked amazing. At the time, Royal Bali's owners transferred the reception and spa area onto a much smaller plot of land in a sailable sim, and kept that part open for visitors." "This is a full region, which again is quite loosely Japanese themed.  In addition to a beach and a small Japanese village, Belle has also added a small Japanese love hotel, with rentable rooms." Read more on the blog.

"Though Asian Dreams, a taste of Bali, offers guests access to a Fruit Island moored yacht, the Ocean Coast Resort is as far as I know the only resort fully situated in the Fruit Islands. As a result, I was keen to take a look, especially as I've now sailed in quite a lot in these sims."
