"It’s been a little over three years since my last visit to Ashemi, the ever-evolving Oriental-themed region designed by the team of Ime Poplin, Jay Poplin (Jayshamime) and Shaman Nitely (see: Ashemi: an Oriental reprise in Second Life), although I believe for some of the intervening period, the region may have been absent from Second Life. So, when Shaman kindly dropped me a line to renew my acquaintance with the setting, I was happy to accept." Read more on the blog.

"There are so many winter destinations, you can scout about for hours and miss out on the good bits! I have done the hard work for you and selected four of the most interesting places. I've put  the landmarks into a hud together with an information notecard which you can collect from  my inworld store FREE" Watch the video on YouTube

"Nestled within the expansive landscape of SL Norway, New Deer Isle Motel is another creative project from Kaiden and Pandora Tray, better known for the NYC-themed Wandering New York.

Unlike much of the clutter you see on the mainland, New Deer Isle offers a meticulously planned and themed coastal town experience, reminiscent of a small New England retreat."

"MOORCROFT is an equestrian community located in the East of Sansara continent. Over the last few months, more land was acquired, and more competitive events were established. In collaboration with the Bellisserian Embassy Sansara, we invite you to join us for a visit at Moorcroft to explore their village and the nearby scenery by horseback riding, followed by a tour around their eventing area to learn more about their diverse events. You will even be able to try out yourself in jumping and racing!" Read more on the blog.

"With several European countries heading into a November lockdown and COVID rates spiking in the US, there’s not going to be much international RL travel for a while. That doesn’t mean you can’t have a vacation though. Where would you like to go?  Fiji?  New York? Greece?  It’s all there for you in Second Life." Read more on the blog.

"Why let the pandemic stop you from staying somewhere amazing this Christmas?  Second Life has several dozen hotels, resorts and campsites that do an excellent job of recreating the RL vacation experience. Here are my eight suggestions for Christmas. Each is connected to amazing sims, and each allows you to rent rooms, suites or whole houses on a nightly basis." Read more on the blog.

"For most of the past 17 years I have been in the virtual world of Second Life, I have spent much of my time alone, fiddling and tinkering with the endless options of avatar customization, at which the platform truly excels. Indeed, I gained (and still get) a great deal of personal satisfaction from designing a complete avatar look from head to toe, as cheaply as possible. As this hobby was primarily a solitary enterprise, I did not feel the need to mingle with a lot of other people; in fact, I often wanted to be alone, to work in peace.

But sometimes, and particularly during these past four pandemic years, I am actively looking for a crowd."

"Imagine living in a five star hotel, and having constant access to the bars, restaurant, spa and pool.  You might not want to do it all the time, but for a month or two it would be pretty great. Unfortunately in RL, extended luxury hotel stays are the preserve of film stars and business tycoons, but out of the reach of us mere mortals.  Not so in Second Life however, where it’s not only possible, but often cheaper than renting a house or skybox." "You know what’s great about the metaverse? You won’t have to leave home to enjoy haunts and frights this Halloween season! We’ve previously covered our favorite metaverse Halloween experiences, but have since found a hidden (and frightful) gem that probably should’ve made the list: Haunted Island Amusement Park in Second Life."
