"It’s that time of the year when I look back at what happened in Second Life and again so much as happened this year in terms of Second Life. The expansion of the Bellisseria continent with new Linden home themes, the return of last names, EEP going live grid-wide, Second Life regions moving into the cloud and much more." "It looks like the next Linden Home reveal (theme 7) will happening at some point on Friday 4th December 2020 according to the official Second Life Public Calendar. The event reads Linden Home Reveal at the Christmas Expo. Yay, this is very exciting indeed to find out what the next theme will be and hopefully when to expect it." Read more on the blog.

"On 19th November Linden Lab introduced a new Second Life public calendar where everyone can view upcoming Linden Lab sponsored events and user group meetings. I think this Google web based calendar will be very useful indeed for the Second Life community. It would be nice to see this calendar somehow built into the Second Life viewer etc under the Help menu soon." Read more on the blog.

"Here's a fun short survey for SL users for a study on virtual cultures during the COVID-19 pandemic. (One of the questions above.) The study is led by my pal Tom Boellstorff of UC Irvine, who's easily among the most preeminent academics with a focus on virtual worlds." Read more on the blog.

"Today Linden Lab have added roughly 17 more Stilt regions and 4 more houseboat regions. In total so far there are now 156 Stilt regions. The mean average for the new Stilt Linden Homes is fractionally over 25 to a region. There will be thousands of Stilt homes available to claim very soon. Probably within the next few weeks or so once all the regions pass the QA process." Read more on the blog.

"The migration of Second Life®’s simulators and services to the Cloud (AWS Services) has been a massive and on-going project. All of SL® user data will soon be transferred and stored in AWS machines owned by Amazon. Some questions continue to remain unanswered, but users should see a number of improvements throughout the grid by the end of 2020." Read more on the blog.
